May I ask how you set up for a shot?  How do you capture an insect in a moment of stillness, that is :)

Some of those insects are still, and I'm usually shooting either early in the morning or late in the evening when their metabolisms naturally slow down. With Bees sometimes their metabolisms tank and I just happen to be in the right place at the right time. I never refrigerate a subject -I think it is unethical.

Some of those subjects are either semi-active or hyper-active and I just have to be quick to get the shot. Sometimes I'll use a bait (like honey or sugar syrup) to slow them down. If they are eating then they are more likely to let me get close. In the end it all comes down to a lot of practice and a little bit of luck ;)
