My first baited honeybee of 2011 
Tech Specs: Canon 1D Mark III (F13, 1/250, ISO 100) + a Canon MPE-65mm macro lens (@ 2.5x) + a diffused MT-24EX (-1/3 FEC). I used a wooden pole to help steady the shot and to get some light in the background.

Overall Vision Originality Technique ImpactIt does not get much better my friend. The details of the eye, head, and tongue are delightful. The colors are very rich and true. Since you are asking for critique, I have to think about what could make the image better. Most folks would be thrilled to get the level of focus and depth of field that you have achieved. The busy tongue is the icing on the cake. As for making it better, I am thinking that maybe you could try to get a more colorful background (like the sky or another flower) in your next shoot. Congratulations on another fine image!
