Covered in Pumpkin Pollen by dalantech Covered in Pumpkin Pollen by dalantech
This is a common European honey bee trying to clean pumpkin pollen off of itself. The trick is to wait for them to get busy doing something so that I can get close. More tips on shooting bees here: [link]

This is such a wonderful photograph!............I love it when there is so much pollen on their bodies that they have trouble moving....let alone flying!

I have always wanted a GOOD Macro lens. I have a Tokena(spelled wrong?) and don't get to use it often, and it is nice, but doesn't gather much light. Oh! Do you know if the pollen affects their flight when they're covered like that? I would think so, but I don't know.

I think that it does mess with their vision -they often fly like they are drunk until they clean it off.
