Somewhere I read that you have used a Canon 100mm macro with a Canon 500D diopter.  Presumably you had to use a step up or step down ring since the 500D only comes in 78, 58, and 52mm.  Which do you use?

Also, closeup lenses have a reputation for distortion at the edges.  But your photos don't have any and you don't crop.  Does the 500D not have any distortion?

Wonderful work.  Thanks for sharing so many ideas, techniques, and most of all, stunning images.

I used the 100mm + 500D a long time ago. Most of my images were taken with a Canon MPE-65mm macro lens. But when I was using the diopter I think it was the 58mm one. As for distortion: I think it would be really tough to see it at the edges since most of the time that area of the frame isn't in focus.

Thanks for the props :)
